Live Scan fingerprinting is a digital fingerprinting process that captures fingerprints electronically without the use of ink or paper. During the appointment, each finger is scanned using advanced imaging technology, creating clear, high-resolution fingerprint images that are submitted electronically for background screening.
After your fingerprints are captured, they are securely encrypted and transmitted to the appropriate agency, such as the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) or other authorized state or federal organizations. If needed, we can also print your fingerprints onto FD-258 FBI fingerprint cards or other required fingerprint forms. Fingerprint quality can vary from person to person. Factors such as age, frequent manual labor, dry skin, or exposure to certain chemicals may make fingerprints more difficult to capture. Our trained fingerprint technicians use professional-grade Live Scan equipment and proven techniques to obtain the highest quality images possible, helping reduce the likelihood of rejected submissions or processing delays.
Each Live Scan transaction includes a unique Transaction Control Number (TCN), which serves as your reference number and allows you to track the status of your fingerprint submission when applicable.
