The Phlebotomy Technician Program equips students with essential knowledge and skills for the healthcare field, including the healthcare delivery system, collection of medical materials and equipment, vein and capillary puncture techniques, specimen transport and processing, quality assurance and safety protocols, communication principles, and the medical and legal aspects of blood collection. Graduates of this program are prepared to find employment at diagnostic labs, hospitals, and physicians' offices.
This 175-hour phlebotomy program includes 105 hours of classroom instruction and 70 hours of clinical lab work. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to take the national Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification exam administered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
